Mail and Distribution Services offers a variety of postal and printing services to the Harvard Community. We are dedicated to providing excellent service and consultation to support Harvard University's communications throughout its campuses and around the world.

Dear Mail Services Customer:
Since so many University staff are working remotely, and there’s a strong desire to reduce close contact on campus, Harvard University Mail Services (HUMS) is offering the following for our customers:
- Each department can have departmental mail sent to a single home address of its choosing.
- This will include USPS Parcels, First Class mail, or mail with endorsements requiring forwarding.
- This will NOT include standard/marketing mail, periodicals, or non-profit pieces.
Mail will be bundled and shipped USPS First Class/Priority mail unless otherwise requested. We can also provide a tracking number so you can monitor the progress of your package. Again, each department can select ONE off-campus address to have this material sent.
If you have any questions about what will be forwarded please email hums@harvard.edu.
To set this service up, please send an email to hums@harvard.edu with the following information:
- Department name, and address on campus
- Individual’s name that mail will be sent to
- How often mail should be sent? (we recommend weekly)
- Billing code (If you are a current HUMS metering customer let us know)

Please do not attempt to forward mail for Harvard addresses through the United States Postal Service Change of Address form.
The USPS does not accept forwarding orders for campus mail addresses.
Also, please read the description of services for HUMS student mail forwarding and the specific student/resident population it serves.

Mail Forwarding is an option available to residents of the Harvard Yard Mail Center, the Upper Class Houses, Cronkhite Hall, the GSAS Mail Centers, and Vanderbilt Hall. When a resident leaves, whether temporarily or permanently, they may submit a forwarding order and their mail will be forwarded to an address of their choosing. Please note that if mail is being forwarded off-campus (which is most common), only First Class U.S. Mail can be forwarded. U.S. Standard Mail, Non-Profit Mail, magazines, and any parcels received through private carriers cannot be forwarded.
It is important that you update your shipping address with Amazon and any other online retailers because many parcels are not forwardable. Parcels that arrive on campus from private carriers such as AMZL, UPS, FedEx, etc. are not forwardable and will be returned to the sender.

HUMS will be closed the afternoon of 12/24, all day on 12/25, and 1/1/20. All other Winter Recess days HUMS will operate on a limited basis. - Tuesday, December 24th: 8am-noon
- Wednesday, December 25th: Closed
- Thursday, December 26th: 8am-2pm
- Friday, December 27th: 8am-2pm

- Monday, December 30th: 8am-2pm
- Tuesday, December 31st: 8am-2pm
- Wednesday, January 1st: Closed
The GSAS Mail Center will be open normal hours with the exception of the afternoon of 12/24, and all day 12/25/19, 1/1/20.
HUMS Metering services will not be available during the Winter Recess. Email HUMS@harvard.edu with any concerns.
